VILLARREAL 2004/2005

This time, let's talk about one of the greatest football teams in the last years in la Liga: Villarreal 2004/2005. First of all, it's important to mention that Vila-Real is a 50.000 population-city placed in Castellón, and el Madrigal (Villarreal's stadium) has 25.000 seats.

Since Villarreal CF promoted to the first division of Spanish League in 1998, the yellow team hasn't stop growing. It began being a modest team, and, basing in this philosophy has become a real alternative to Real Madrid and Barça (despite 09/10 league isn't being their best year).

But the success of that year was a compact group very well leaded by their new coach that year: Manuel Pelegrini. The mister has always had a clear idea about the kind of football he wanted: offensive team, solid defense and a game by the center, sometimes forgetting about wings.

That year, and next ones, Villarreal CF, also called 'el submarino amarillo' (yellow submarine), wrote its name with golden letters in Spain and Europe, making everyone fall in love with the agressivity of their counter-attacks, leaded bassically in two A-class players: Riquelme and Forlán.

The column of this magical team, as I said before, was a compact team, but there were some pieces of that puzzle that really could make have no breath:

Reina: the actual Liverpool goalkeeper get fantastic season in Villarreal, which make some of the best Premier League teams try to "buy" him.

In the middfield, Marcos Senna, the brazilian inner, gave the team the rocky aspect that the team already preserves. In addition, his potent shoot is a great arm that the player also explotes.

Also in the midfield, but, in the creating facet, one of the bets "brains" which have played in la Liga: Juan Román Riquelme. No one gave his passes, no one moved the team like him, when he was concentrate, he was an incredible player. In addition, he was a spectacular free kick shooter. It could be said that, Riquelme dind't run when he was playing, but, it's just that he dind't need so.

And finally, the jewel of the team, the killer, Diego, Dieguito, Forlán. There are no words for this player, he is unique, I will just say that he obtained the Golden Boot, stealling it to Samuel Eto'o in the last match, were Villarreal won 1-4 to Levante U.D.

The final prize to the yellow submarine was to finish in the 3rd position in la Liga, that supposed that, Villarreal CF could play Chmpions League the next year (were they could arrive to semi-final).

Sevilla FC 2006/2007

That is!!! This blog will be about the football teams which have done best footbal in the last few years. Let's begin with Sevilla F.C. in 2.007.

SFC's game was based in: fastest wings in la Liga, rocky middfield and very good killers. The actors were: Dani Alves, Jesús Navas, Capel or Adriano by wings, Poulsen, Renato or Enzo Maresca as inners, and the best Kanouté and a "weak" Luis Fabiano, as well as Chevanton and Kerzhakov to help them.

It was incredible to see their typical move: Dani Alves (the only organizator-wing ever), begins to run to the rival goal, and finishing in the area or in a warning shoot. This player was amazing.

Someone who also deserves to be named is Frederic Kanouté. His performance was extraordinary. He scored over 25 goals. But the most important labour of this player apart from scoring, was the defendig work, that he was able to do thanks to his high. And that's no everything, Kanoute also was famous by his great quality.

The last "A class" player who I want to emphasize is Christian Poulsen, a denmark defensive midfielder who could do his job without making many faults and with an excelent positioning in the field, and making each movement with sense.

The anecdote: when you watched a match Sevilla didn't seem to be such better as it was, but, normally in the second half, they worked as a road roller. In those few minutos, electric players like Alves, Adriano, Navas, Capel or Luis Fabiano were able to score 2, 3 or more goals.

The succes of this team, was to win the Spanish Cup, Uefa Cup and European SuperCup.

The most ussual lineup was: Palop, Dani Alves-Javi Navarro-Aitor Ocio-David, Navas-Poulsen-Renato-Adriano, Kanouté-Luis Fabiano

My idol

Well, I've had time enough to think about going on with this project, what to talk about, etc, and, as I said, I wanted to talk about football, so, I'll begin with the only idol I've ever had in football: Marcos Santos Assunção, "Assunção".

This brazilian middfielder was recognised to be the best free kicker in the world. He got this recognisement after the Spanish season 2004/2005, playing at Betis, where he helped the team to win the "Copa del rey" and play Chamions League with his 11 goals.

Iker Casillas, maybe the best goalkeeper in the world admited that he nedt to be very concentrate and to be lucky when Assunçao was prepared to shoot. The key to make Assunçao's shoots effective, was the "Folha Seca" technique, it is a strong shoot that makes the ball go fastly down. When a player knows how to do it, it is nearly impossible to stop it.

Appart from Betis, Marcos Assunçao called "Heliopolis' Cannon", also played in Calcio (at Roma's team), EAU at Al-Ahli or in his country at Santos or Flamengo at first, or at Grêmio Recreativo Barueri, his last team.

But, the best way to remember this amazing footballer is watch one of his videos and knowing what said Betis' speaker: "el portero esta 'asustao', tira la falta, Assunçao" (the goalkeeper is skared, shoots the free kick, Assunçao). Enjoy it.

In The Begining...

Hi, what's up?, my name is Miwe

The purpose of this blog is not already decided, I wanted it to be more than just the first class of Computer Fundamentals. I hope it will be more interactive in the next days or, as much, weeks.

As I said, it is the first job we have to do in this new subject, that a little group of students have in the LADE and "Conjunta" degree.

If I go on developing this blog, it has many possibilities to finish one more football blog, so it won't be anything new, but between you and me, we are gonna try to make it better.

If I have time, I'll do my best to make it web were have a good time, argue and read about...well who knows!
